We would love to have you as a volunteer! If you are 18 or older, please complete the Safe Environment training online. If you are under 18, you need to be supervised by an adult who has taken the training.
All volunteers and employees of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston must complete the Safe Environment Video Training. If you are new to this training, click on the link below to create an account.
There are many ways you can volunteer and serve our parish community. Below are some of the ministries and opportunities where your help is greatly appreciated. For phone numbers and more information, please call the parish office.
Altar Servers – Assist at Mass.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion – Help distribute Holy Communion.
Ushers – Welcome and assist parishioners during Mass.
Lectors – Proclaim the Word of God at Mass.
Music Ministry – Serve as singers, cantors, or instrumentalists.
Art and Environment – Help decorate the church with flowers and plants.
Children’s Catechism Classes – Teach or assist in religious education for children. Contact: Cindy.
Adult Catechism Classes (English) – Lead or assist in teaching adults. Contact: Bobbie and Rick.
Adult Catechism Classes (Spanish) – Teach catechism to Spanish-speaking adults. Contact: Carlos Barquin.
Baptism Class Teachers – Prepare families for the sacrament of baptism.
Homebound & Nursing Home Ministry – Bring healing, comfort, and support to those who cannot attend Mass in person.
Nursing Home Visits – Visit the elderly in nursing homes. Contact: Sister Lucy.
Hospital Visits – Visit and pray with the sick in hospitals. Contact: Father Biju.
Handy Men Ministry – Assist in repairing homes for elderly parishioners and those in need. Contact: Sister Fortune.
Saint Vincent de Paul Society – Volunteer with the food pantry, help with rent and utility bill assistance, and support other social services.
Food Distribution – Help distribute food to those in need on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Funeral Reception Committee – Plan, shop, cook, and set up luncheons for parish families after funerals, offering comfort during difficult times.
International Food Festival – Help organize and support this important parish event.
Youth Ministry – Work with our teen youth groups, help plan and chaperone retreats, and support their formation. Contact Youth Ministry Coordinator.
Pastoral and Finance Councils & Committees – Provide lay leadership and guidance for parish operations. Contact the pastor.
Office Angels – Assist with clerical and miscellaneous tasks at your convenience. Contact: Elida Villareal, head receptionist.

All adult volunteers are required to be Safe Haven trained. Within one month of beginning to volunteer or serve as a minister, please ensure you have taken or renewed your training.
