
Infant baptism is available for children from birth through age 6.
Children ages 7–17 must participate in the Catechumenate for Children / Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC), which begins every September. Through this process children will receive: Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation on the Friday following the Easter Vigil.
Parents and godparents must attend two baptism preparation classes.
No registration is required for the classes.
Simply come to the first class and sign in upon arrival.
You must attend both classes in order to receive the certificate of completion.
For the actual baptism, parents must complete the Baptism Registration Form. It will be given to you during the 2nd class.
• Child’s Birth Certificate.
• Completed Baptism Registration Form (given during the 2nd class)
• Godparent Affirmation of Eligibility Questions (given during the class)
• Certificate of attendance at the baptism classes (received after completing both classes)

The baptism date is not confirmed until you receive an email confirmation from the Baptism Coordinator (Elida).
Godparents must:
• Be at least 16 years old
• Be a baptized Catholic who has received First Communion and Confirmation
• If married, be married in the Catholic Church
• Live according to Christian values
Only one godparent is required, but if there are two, they must be one male and one female.
Baptism ceremonies and preparation classes at St. Bartholomew are free of charge.
Donations are welcome on the day of the ceremony but are not required.
El bautismo infantil está disponible para niños desde recién nacidos hasta los 6 años. Los niños de 7 a 17 años deben asistir al proceso de catecumenado (RCIC) para niños, que comienza cada septiembre, y recibirán el bautismo, la confirmación y la primera comunión el viernes siguiente a la Vigilia Pascual.
